The Oxford and Cambridge Society of Hong Kong

Current President's Message

To the website of The Oxford and Cambridge Society of Hong Kong!

For many decades, this Society has served the alumni of both Oxford and Cambridge who are residing in Hong Kong, through organising academic, social, cultural and sporting events. Today, we represent a diverse community of alumni as well as student members from different academic backgrounds and fields of specialisation.

It is my honour to be elected President for 2016/17. During this year, my fellow Committee members and I shall further the Society’s overall mission and tradition as an interactive alumni platform by presenting a series of events and activities for members’ enjoyment.

Together as a community, Oxford and Cambridge alumni are also passionate about serving society. Over the years, we have raised funds for charity works in Hong Kong and provided scholarships in support of student-led projects. It is our objective this year to deepen our commitment in these areas. We not only shall continue to make available scholarship monies to well-deserving recipients, but also look forward to making a difference in society with our serving hearts.

I would like to convey my thanks to Sir David Akers-Jones and Sir David KP Li for their continued patronage for the Society. Likewise, I am grateful to our past residents and committees who have provided their efforts and leadership to make the Society an excellent and thriving organisation it is today. My thanks must also go to the Committee of 2016/17 as well as all our alumni members for their active support.

With the Dark Blues and the Light Blues united as one community, I envision that 2016/17 would be another exciting year!

Yours sincerely,
Michael Chi On Wong
